Monopoly Kempinski Hotel Variant.

Quite a lot of back and forth to get to this point, there was about 3 tiers of management to please, a lot of the feedback meant I had to really cheat a lot of perspective, and struggled to keep the whole from getting too cluttered, lots of voices trying to get their say in what gets included, that's how it goes sometime. Enjoyed doing it though.

Laing Whiskey 70th anniversary poster

Working from the agency thumbnail layout, I used Corel Painter for the dip pen and watercolour style. I show some close-up's of some areas to show the high resolution. I started doing digital illustration on a powermac in the early 90's (Photoshop 3.5) while working in Animation. I struggle to imagine how those early Mac's could have coped with the size of this piece.

Icons for an Illustrated map.

Kingston-upon-Thames council wanted to produce a fun visitor map for their Summer Tourism campaign. I got to do some icons to enhance the fun.

Cocktail Pencil illustrations

I mean Pencil Illustrations of Cocktails, there's no such thing as a Cocktail Pencil.

I think they were meant to be used as part of the shop display as they were done very large (3m high).

Editorial Botanical Illustrations.

I was asked to help with botanical illustrations for a magazine publication. Another illustrator was doing the job and was overwhelmed with the amount of work so they needed someone to duplicate the style. Apparently my illustrations integrated seamlessly.

History book cover

Book 1 of 3, I assume I'll be commencing book 2 soonish.
The design is a bit busy for me, but exactly what the client was after. My first version was very woodcut but the clients wanted a clean line. I might show some of the woodcut elements at a later date.

Children's Book.

The first of 20 Illustrations for a book ongoing, I'm using the Pastels in Corel Painter.

We're going on a Bear Hunt.

Here's a Background from the Bear Hunt film I worked on a few months ago. It's Watercolour on paper using 3 colours, Paynes Grey, Burnt Umber and Yellow Ochre. It was a lovely job to work on.

Here's a vector illustration for a Magazine. Its a map of Peru clearly! I left the icons on separate levels so they can be used as paragraph headers. Its not a style of my own creation, I assume the illustrator was unavailable, so I had to reproduce the style.

More Vector work

Asked by the Mystery agency in Kentish Town to produce a technical drawing of a classic watch brand, vectored for use on the web amongst other uses.

BMW and Goodwood.

Some more Vectoring, this one for a BMW event. It's going to be very large in its final form which is a bit of a worry, I hope it stands up to scrutiny.

A Busy Summer.

I've not posted for a while, I've been busy. I had an animation gig painting backgrounds for "We're going on a Bear hunt", the film of the children's classic. I'm not allowed to show any of that but I can post some other work done over the Summer. Here's some vector work I did for a holiday brochure.

Singapore Airlines

Apple Illustration got in touch to do a box cover for the Singapore Airlines version of Monopoly.
It was an unwieldy brief, especially with the logo cutting the composition in half and nothing to scale and perspective out the window, but it sort of works and they seem to be happy!
